How are you ? Hoping that you are Blessed and looking Fabulous! Over the weekend I installed box braids on my 5 year old daughter as a protective style. I used 3 packs of the Remi kankelon braid hair. I think I could had used 2 but my son that’s 3 started playing around and messed up the hair.
I made them large, because she’s only five and I wanted to make sure that she didn’t end up with a head of heavy braids , and look too grown for her age. Trust me , I know better. Lol.
Here’s a bit of advice for you if you have a child who cried when you just part their hair or comb it. It will be so much easier for you if you spray the section with water and then finger deranged the section.
It took me about four hours to do her hair because she kept taking breaks , but it should had only been a two hour job at the most.
I didn’t burn her ends, I decided to dip them in hot water and rod her ends. She’s so happy with her ” big girl braids” as she calls them, and I’m happy too because I don’t have to comb her hair for two weeks. Lmao. Hope this helps some moms out there that’s not sure if large box braids is appropriate for a child. She keeps them in a ponytail or two , so we are all good. Thanks for reading !
Love , Free
Hi guys ! How have you been? I know I haven’t been writing as much as usual, but it’s been so busy around here with my husband being deployed. I am excited to let you know that I did color my sisterlocks.
Yes! I know. Lmao. I’m hardheaded , but I was sure that nothing crazy would happen. I did not let my loctician know I was going to , because I was told I would have had to wait 8 months to a year to color my locs , BE has thus had to settle first. Soooooo, yeah. I got tired of the black and needed some color. I had to really decide on a color that I felt I would want to keep for at least a year because I didn’t want to keep switching colors with this Journey. I decided on my red/orange , brown and black ombré color.
I did not bleach my locs at all! You guys know how I am about using bleach , and I did use a semi parmenant color Adore. I did try the textures and tones first and it didn’t take , only had me looking crazy by the roots. Then I remembered , that color doesn’t work on my head. WOMP WOMP!
For real tho , I love my sisterlocks. This was the best decision I think I made. I was a free flowing natural for 4 years and a half , that journey had to come to an end, and it’s ok. I’m happy that I finally got my sisterlocks , and I plan on rocking the heezy out of them !
Please ! Please ! If you decide to get Sisterlocks listen to your loctician. Don’t be doing what I did , and then have the nerve to get mad at me if something happens. Lmao. I’m not the blame.
Hello my loves!
Here’s my video footage on my SisterLock install. It took three days for me to get 530 locks installed. My loctician name is Shawn, she’s the owner of All Tangled Up LLC , located in Stone Mountain GA.
I’ll be posting a video on my YouTube page going over the history of Sisterlocks, and how to take care of them soon. I hope you enjoy the video , I know I was extra but that’s because I was excited. Lol.
I’m so excited to bring this product review series to you all! It’s on Kinkistry Hair Extensions! They have weft hair and clip ins that is very pretty much undetectable as being extensions. This hair is so close to our own curls it’s scary! Scary Good! You can pick between three different hair types. You have Koilistics which is for hair type 3b-3c , you have the Kurlgenics which is for 3c-4a, and lastly the Kinknetics clip ins for 4b-4c hair. Now each set comes in 10-28inches . That’s pretty cool because some companies stop at 22-24 inches. The color of the hair only comes in natural which is okay, because it’s 100% virgin human hair. YES! You can dye it!
The owner whom is Angela Fite’ is very professional , and is superb in customer service. I can’t even tell you how many questions I had , and she even gave me some tips on how to use the clip ins since this is my first set. I’m so happy that I chose this company. The hair is very soft , and it looks exactly like my own hair!
Next I will be dying it , since my hair is a midnight blue mixed with another blue. I will be posting the coloring video next. Please go check out the KINKISTRY . Her prices are reasonable , it’s great quality hair , and you get your merchandise fast. If you all have any questions please feel free to email me as usual @ email@example.com.
Go visit the Kinkistry @ http://www.kinkistry.com
That way you can see which texture matches your curl pattern , and if you need any help they will write back immediately to make sure you’re perfect.
I hate to go , because I love talking to you guys , but I have to dye this hair. Talk to you soon! Stay Fabolous! 💋
Guess what I did ? I colored my hair! I decided that I was tired of my brown and light brown streaked hair , and wanted something fun. Now remember when I colored my hair Indigo Blue with Adore ? Well I wanted to go back blue. This time I used blue black from Revlon and Manic Panic After Midnight Blue. I work in an office setting so I couldn’t make it as bright as I wanted to. I’m happy with my results. I left them both in for 30 minutes and rinsed. In about two weeks in going to add manic panic to my conditioner and let it sit in about an hour only in my front. Now let’s talk about the health of curls after I did this. No , I DID NOT BLEACH! Manic Panic takes very well without you having to. You can leave it on over night for a very bold and rich color. It’s is 100% vegan , so u are ok. The Revlon took too , because I went to a darker color not a lighter one. I’m so happy with my results. I have been continuing to deep condition once a week, and rinse with my cold water. Have my dye ran ? No. Which surprised me because when I used the purple in Manic Panic and the Vampire Red , it got all over my hands. Idk , maybe this color is the good guy. Lol. Well if you have any questions about Manic Panic be sure to hit me up.
Hi! Do I have something to share with you all today! This morning I got an email from Strawberry Curls blog stating that she was doing her 30 day deep conditioning challenge again. Man , was I excited. I told you all that this year I was coming back strong on my hair game. I read through all the rules , and was like ” ok , this is what I do anyway “.
Simply pick one day out the week that you will deep condition, and just do it. Yup ! That’s it. Basically you’re promising your curls to a spa day once a week , lol. Ain’t that cute ? A spa day 😂
She even recommended some deep conditioners you could use or if you already have one you like , you could use that. Since I had an awesome $10 off coupon from Sally’s for my birthday , and needed to pick up some other things I decided to get a deep conditioner.
I’ve been wanting to try this brand for a while , so I was happy to see that they had this big jar for $7.00!
Next , she did say it would be awesome to get a length shirt. I always said I was going to buy one , because I didn’t like how my diy turned out last year. I will be getting one from a shop I seen on Instagram , but I’m starting the challenge tonight.
Here’s my hair now
In 30 days or maybe half way through I’ll post more pics so we can see if we can tell a difference.
If you would like to take part in this challenge come right on! Message me for complete info or go look her up. I’ll keep you all posted.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I’m going to be completely honest on why. I ran out of ideas to do with my head. Honest to goodness truth. I sat around and noticed all the bloggers were writing about the same thing , and I didn’t want to do that. I also felt like I let so many of you down when I decided to BC for the second time. ( yeah not what I planned on doing ). Everything happens for a reason , and with the move back home I felt like it was a new journey , so I cut all my hair off. It’s just hair right ? It’ll grow back. 😐
Well here in Indiana it’s taking longer to grow because of this weather. It’s growing faster than most would expect , but I know the rate would had been quicker if I had the Georgia sun and heat. I haven’t been doing my hair regimens like usual either , I just had lost the “umph “.
Will I regain my focus ? Of course! Actually last week it came back when I noticed that the blog page on Facebook had been growing like crazy. I couldn’t believe it. People were referring to my older blog posts and looking for updates , and here I was M.I.A. That woke me up. Why punish my readers because I was being a donkey. Lmao. Yes donkey.
With that being said I will begin writing and posting again. Plus I’m happy to announce that I have began being a fitness advocate for Saba For Life. Make sure you following me on my fitness journey, and I will be open to questions on how u can live a healthier life.
Thanks for all the support. FabCurlies Take 2! 💋
Have you guys been conditioning ? Mmmhmm , don’t lie to me. How many times do I have to say to condition, condition, condition? We all say we want pretty , long , healthy hair , but become too lazy to take proper care of it. Well here is a conditioner I made at home , that was pretty cost efficient.
- Vegetable Glycerine (2 tablespoons)
- Baby Bananas (1 container)
- 1 Raw Egg
- Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Coconut Oil (2 tablespoon)
- Jamaican Black Castor Oil /w Tea Tree ( 2 Tablespoons)
- Light Mayo (1 1/2 cup)
Mix all the ingredients together to a creamy consistency . You don’t want it runny at all, because it will drip and run all while you’re sitting letting your hair benefit from all the yummy nutrients.
Distribute the mixture evenly on your hair , you can even use a coloring brush to get really close to your edges and roots. Put a plastic cap or bag on , and sit under your hair hair steamer for added benefits , if you don’t own one a sit under hair dryer or not is fine as well. I leave my mixture on for a hour or sometimes over night , and then rinse. Follow with a nice cowash.
If you have any questions be sure to ask here or on my Facebook page.
Wow! That’s all I can say. I never would had believed I would end up with 100 YouTube subbies. I never even post like that, for some reason I never could get a good feel for the camera, but I will not just leave you guys hanging. What am I gonna do ? Guess I’ll start filming , and today is the perfect day since I’m coloring my hair! I’m so excited! I haven’t been this excited about a color job since I did then Manic Panic purple over two years ago. This should be a fun experience filming the purchasing of the color and some of the process. Before I go , thank you to all of you who have supported me from the beginning, and who has recently started. Love you much!
