MaryKay’s Satin Shea Lip Balm

Hello Curlies !

I have an amazing new product to share with you today. The best part is it’s actually a set ! Yes ! It’s the MaryKay Cosmetics Satin Lips Balm and Shea Sugar Lip Scrub

They are in nice little tubs , that fit in your pocket for when you’re on the go. I have to admit that I was a little iffy about doing the review when asked by my own MaryKay Consultant Shay. Why ? Well, who wears MaryKay now I thought ? Ladies and gents ! I am proud to announce that I do ! Just these two products alone got me thinking about what else I’m missing by them

Let’s start this review …..

I have full lips , and it’s important to me that they stay nice and looking great at all times. With that tasks always come error. Some lippies cause you to have dead skin in the corners of your mouth ( yuck ) or just make your lips too moist to wear it does make them look unattractive. I didn’t experience this with these products. I first used the lip scrub , a little bit goes a long way. You only have to use a dime size to get the job done

I didn’t wet my lips only because I wanted to get everything off. I rubbed and rubbed . A lot of dead skin was removed which had me in total shock. My lips didn’t even look like it was any dead skin on them. After the scrub I dried my lips , and applied the lip balm.

My lips looked totally different! Above you will see how pink and nice they are. I did not line my lips or anything. There is not a tint under the balm at all , and the balm itself isn’t tinted. I was really feeling myself.

I suggest that you go and purchase these two items , because your colored lippies will apply even better over these two. I did it and I was very happy with my results.

I applied a nude/brownish color over the MaryKay balm and it was perfect.

Now here’s the great news! I will be giving away one of each Mary Kay products to one lucky subscriber !🎉🎉

In order to be eligible for the contest you have to make one purchase with my MaryKay Consultant Shay. I will be including her Facebook Info http://www.marykay.com/vjack

Please save your proof of purchase! Contest ends Sept 11th! Email fabolouscurlies@gmail.com for me to know you’ve entered. I will be emailing the lucky winner on Sept 14th.

Have an awesome weekend!

Always Love,

Sugarpill’s Anti-Socialite Liquid Lip Color

Hello FabCrew!

I have a new cosmetics company that I cannot seem to get enough of . The name of the company is Sugarpill, and you can find them on Instagram to check out some amazing looks done by customers. The lip color that I will be sharing with you all this time around is “Anti-Socialite“.  Anti-Socialite is a super matte blackened burgundy color that loos good on all skin tones. The great thing about this lippie is that it is build-able , meaning that you can control how dark or light it is by applying less or more applications. Here is a swatch of the lip color at its darkest provided by the company

Anti_socialite_lip_swatch pic 4

Now let’s talk facts, because you actually need to know if its worth the price of $18.00. Correct?  Anti-Socialite is said to last up to 18 hrs, and I believe it can . I applied some at 2pm , and it was still on my lips the next day till 6am. Did it dry my lips out? No.  I do apply a lip moisturizer before every lipstick application anyway, which you should do anyway to protect your lips from cracking.  I really do like this shade, and received lots of compliments when wearing it out.

I’ll insert some pics below of  the Fairy look I created using Anti-Socialite. I applied only two coats on my lips in the pictures , to get the dark look posted above you will need three coats. To purchase this color and more visit

Contour That Face Honey

ladies and gents! I have not forgotten about you, that’s why I decided to share my updated makeup routine with you. I only tend to do this look when I’m going out , but since I’ve began getting very busy with work and family I had to update my products. First let me begin to say I have very oily skin. Now u know when you have oily skin your foundation will run off your face faster than a sinner running away from church. Lol. (that was a funny 😜).

Primer- I still use the same thing for a primer I stated to you guys in a previous post , Milk of Magnesia. It will ensure that your face stay Matte.

Foundation – Maybelline New York Dream Mousse. Praises! Praises! I have had this foundation on all day and it is still in tact. Honestly it’s been 7 hours , and my face isn’t shiny at all. I am so so happy , because if you have oily skin you can go from looking on fleek , to looking a hot mess.

Concealer – Mac

Blush – Maybelline

Eyes– NYX Primer & Milk Eye Shadow Pencil. Shadow over the milk eyeshadow is Urban Decay.

Contouring was done with my Mac (dark concealer ) and LA Girl for highlighting in Fawn.

Hope this helped all my oily women and or men. These products used together really stopped me from looking like a bathed in grease. I will stick to these products and let you know updates in two weeks.

                                       Love

Revisiting Clay

Terressentials

Hi Guys!

Even though I hadn’t been posting it doesn’t mean I hadn’t been trying things to share with you. If you remember from a past post I did a review on the Terressentials Lavender Garden Hair Wash. It’s actually a clay! We all know that clay washes are adorned by the natural hair community. Now, I have tried clay washes, and face scrubs from just about everyone and been left a little disappointed. My skin would look amazing for the first couple of weeks , and I’d be seeing large pores again. After rummaging in my hair boxes, yet again I stumbled upon my bottle of clay. It was still practically brand new! (Remember I’m A Recovering Product Junkie).

Let me start by saying that the clay is 100% natural. There are no harmful chemicals or ingredients in it that’s bad for you. Guess what I did? Yup! I put it on my face!

image

I let it sit on until it began to harden , and scared my youngest son to death. It was so funny , he thought I was a zombie ( no more walking dead for him). Anyhoo, I used a face sponge with water as hot as I could take to wash the clay off. The results were amazing! The blackheads came to the surface , and my skin was glowing! To me the results were better for my face than my hair! I have been using it so far for a week and my face is totally different . It’s looking healthier, softer and not oily.

image

So so everyone try it! Tell me what you think , and please be sure to comment below if you do . I used the Lavender remember, and be careful . Try an allergy test too.

SUGA~LUSH (COMPANY BLOG FEATURE)

   Image

Hello Beauties!

This month’s company feature happens to be a natural body crafter located in Indiana. Her bars are wonderful in size, and believe me you will get plenty for your dollars. I was super surprised that when I picked up one of her body bars I was actually able to guess what fragrance it was.Oh honey! Yess! Pick up the Heavenly Rose Body Bar and it was like you had your face in a dozen roses. I can’t wait to see more from Marlin, CEO and Master Mixtress of Suga~Lush! Thanks for working with Fabolous Curlies! Now let’s get into it!

How Did You Get Started Making Body Treats?

Well I have worked in the day spa industry many years ago as a nail tech at one time and was exposed to the skin care industry. During that time I would get spa treatments and enjoy how the products made my skin feel. The products used were of very good quality, but still was tailored to my sensitive skin needs. After leaving the industry I still wanted to pamper my skin so time later I began making body treatments for myself, then for family and friends then as gifts. Before I knew it I was getting requests for these body treats and Suga~Lush was born.

What are your products made from, are they 100% natural?

Suga~Lush products are hand crafted and many of the ingredients like the herbs, vegetables, fruit or botanicals that are used in my products are grown in my garden and picked with my own hands. And when I make any of my products they are made with care and love.

CEO Of SugaLush

Which product out of your line is your favorite?

That’s like asking a Mother which one of her children is her favorite lol. I love what I do, making quality natural products. My family and I use the products that I make and I enjoy all of them. Each one offers something enjoyable. But if I had to I would say the fragrance free, the milk soaps. I love products that have milk in them and bath soaks it’s very soothing to me.

Is Suga~Lush products safe for children to use?

My products are natural. They are naturally handcrafted with quality ingredients that will leave your skin feeling clean and moisturized. As I stated before some of the ingredients in my products come right from my own garden and some ingredients are organic also. I like use herbs, natural oils and butters, essential oils that will nourish the skin as well as pure fragrances, and natural colorants. I use natural preservatives like vitamin e and make small batches to maintain the quality and freshness of the products. I have some items now that children can use like the fragrance free line.

Will there be a children’s line in the future, because my girls loves smell goods?

In the future I will have products that will be directed to children, but right now I do have products that are fragrance free and are made with milk. I also have a few products that are for people with skin sensitivity like eczema or psoriasis.

What advice can you give someone who would love to start their own business, but is afraid?

Trust and believe in yourself. Have a good support system and love what you do. If you love what you do it will never fell like work.

Do you love what you do?

Yes! I love creating and coming up with new things to do or improve something or simply work my craft.  I’m like a kid in a candy store when I get to mixing things up in what my family calls the lab and me the mad scientist LOL.

Well thank you Marlin  so much for doing this blog feature. I’m sure that this will get your company out there, and my subbies will sure contact you, because they love smelling good.lol. You can contact Suga~Lush at sugalushco@gmail.com for ordering, and more information. I will include some pictures of some of the many products she has. Be sure to mention FabolousCurlies for a special discount 🙂

Aztec Secret : A Review

I finally used my Aztec Clay on my hair and face. After seeing my blog friend KinkyNappyCurly’s post on her blog, I said let me get up and do this. I mixed two different batches to use on my hair and face. For my hair I used Apple Cider Vinegar, and water for my face mixture.
Here’s a pic of the hair ingredients

image

image

Now be careful not to use too much clay, it does stretches a lot. I began to add to my hair first making sure to section it in four parts so I covered all basis of my hair.

image

Funny thing is you feel it getting hard almost immediately. It was easy to apply, and control. Next, my face application. Warning ,these pictures.might scare you. One of my daughter ran away screaming when she saw me. Haha!

image

image

I left it on my hair for 30 minutes and face for 15 minutes. Once it began to harden on my face, I wasn’t able to talk or move my face. I looked like a statue just standing around scaring the crap out my daughter.
I rinsed my hair and face at the same.time in my kitchen sink using warm water. You don’t want to use cool because it makes the clay harder to come off. After rinsing out I did my moisture conditioning recipe I came up with. This moisturizing recipe has my hair so bouncy and full of life every time. Here’s my results at the end with no product

Love ! Love! Love! !Now mind you my hair is wavy not so much curly, so I was happy that the clay brought out my waves. My hair was super clean, and my scalp tingled. It got the job done for real. Now my face pics,

image

Look at my skin! It wasn’t all that bad in the beginning, but I can look at it and tell the clay gave it a good deep cleaning. I will be using this on my head once a week, and face and neck twice a week.

I don’t like that I had to find my own ratio of water or acv to add to it.
Plus I think I left it on my face too blasted long, because it broke me out in tiny bumps. Next time for my face mixture I will add evoo to my mixture.

lll Sisters Of Nature Curly Pudding

As I stated before with the lll Sister’s Of Nature Curling Gelo, they don’t play! I bought the Curly Whip Pudding the same time I got the Gelo, but didn’t get a chance to use it till this past Saturday. Let’s get into the review.
First off this product is compared to Miss Jesse’s Curly Pudding at a much better price . The first ingredient is water, and that is great. You always want your first ingredient to be water, because you know it’ll hold moisture.

image

image

The smell wasn’t bad to me, it actually smells like lavender. It was pleasant, and reminded me of Spring. Directions says to use it to fresh shampooed, and conditioned hair. Even if you hadn’t just cowashed, you can use your spray bottle to wet your hair up. Next it says to apply the whipped pudding in generous amounts throughout hair with fingers evenly,  and let hair air dry. Here’s a picture of it in the jar.

image

Nice and creamy, a little bit goes a long way. Try not to use too much, because it will make your hair sticky. After it dries my advice would be to spray with some oils to soften it up a bit, also add some shine.
Now the final reveal!

Love, Love Love it! I will be using lll
Sisters as my holy grails.  They are some winners. Go check these two products out .
